The cross-hatched band painted on this table lamp takes a fair bit of maths to achieve and all those stripes have to be evenly spaced. It takes a steady hand and a good tape measure ! The design echoes the pattern on the 14" Cross-Hatch lampshade in yellow and gold which is one of my more Bloomsbury style designs.
These unique lamp bases are designed to go with our selection of lampshades. They are made of turned elm and produced especially for us in Sussex. I paint each one by hand which means no two are ever the same – though perfection is my aim. They are all bear my painted signature near to the base.
After painting they receive a protective semi-matt varnish and are fitted with a brass switched bayonet cap lampholder and a classic linen-covered stripey cream & black flex.
