This illustration was inspired by the Benozzo Gozzoli frescoes in the Medici Chapel in Florence. I love the contrived pattern-rich landscapes and took them as my starting point in making my own version. As ever I like to include something living in the scene - this time it's a badger padding its way through the snow.
