LAMPSHADE PAINTING MASTERCLASS

As seen in The New York Times Style Magazine’s Crafting With T series, I will share my step-by-step guide to help you create your very own hand painted lampshade. Come and spend a fun day at my East London studio where you will enjoy the experience of designing your very own original lampshade inspired by my work and the art of Bloomsbury.
You'll be provided with a 14" paper coolie lampshade as well as specialist translucent dyes, emulsion and gold paint. There will be paint brushes, paper and pencils, but please bring an apron. For those less confident there will be the opportunity to paint one of Cressida's pre-printed lampshades in any colour way of your choice. (£25.00 supplement).
The day will start with an introduction at 10.30am with coffee, tea and pastries. The morning will then be spent drawing your design onto your lampshade, followed by a base colour.
A buffet style lunch will be provided at around 1pm including wine, water and soft drinks. Weather permitting, lunch will be in our fabulous studio garden!
The afternoon is spent painting your shade. We hope to finish by 5.30pm depending on how long each specific shade takes.
