The pattern on this table lamp is designed to be relatively simple to offset the more showy Tulips Lampshade in blue. To me it is reminiscent of the swirling lines in a Venetian glass bauble. The balance of the design is all-important and it’s quite hard to achieve the right spacing between the lines.
These unique lamp bases are designed to go with our selection of lampshades. They are made of turned elm and produced especially for us in Sussex. I paint each one by hand which means no two are ever the same – though perfection is my aim. They are all bear my painted signature near to the base.
After painting they receive a protective semi-matt varnish and are fitted with a brass switched bayonet cap lampholder and a classic linen-covered stripey cream & black flex.
