This hand painted paper coolie lampshade is covered in our signature Cross-Hatch pattern in yellows and oranges with golden dots on top and is perfect for pairing with our Red Gold Cross-Hatch Carafe table lamp base. I am told that one similarity between my work and Vanessa Bell’s (my grandmother) is our mutual fondness for circles and stripes and this design is certainly replete with both.
Each shade is unique and has been individually handcrafted in the UK before being hand painted and signed by me in our London studio. The yellow background is a colourful option which is elevated by a golden trim. Designed to be lit up, the red and yellow pigments in our paints pop when you turn the light on, bringing a lovely warmth to the room.
