My Clouds & Stars lampshade depicts just that - but the matching base is more stars and stripes which gives it a bit of an American accent. It's a simple arrangement of stars which is a bit more fiddly than it looks to paint.
These unique lamp bases are designed to go with our selection of lampshades. They are made of turned elm and produced especially for us in Sussex. I paint each one by hand which means no two are ever the same – though perfection is my aim. They are all bear my painted signature near to the base.
After painting they receive a protective semi-matt varnish and are fitted with a brass switched bayonet cap lampholder and a classic linen-covered stripey cream & black flex.
